The Backstory

ilma Beach House is a celebration of heritage, family, and the natural beauty of the South West.

Owners Liz and Mark, inspired by their Maltese roots and their deep connection to the local landscape, have created a space where hospitality and community meet. The name “ilma,” meaning “water” in Maltese, reflects the essence of the Mediterranean, evoking a sense of calm, refreshment and community. Liz's ties to Malta, through her mother, have strongly influenced the venue’s vision—one that embraces the slow, relaxed pace of life found in Mediterranean cultures.

Having already established the success of Meelup Farmhouse, Liz and Mark saw the idyllic beachside location at Bunker Bay as the perfect backdrop to bring their vision to life. ilma Beach House offers a welcoming and vibrant venue where locals and visitors alike can enjoy a range of experiences - from  breakfasts to long, leisurely lunches, and seaside cocktails. With a menu inspired by the bountiful local produce of the South West and a refined, welcoming atmosphere, ilma Beach House is the perfect place to unwind, celebrate, and connect with both heritage and nature.
